Q&A:
What's the story behind the
band name Horns Of Hattin?
The band takes its name from "The Battle of Hattin",
one of bloodiest episodes to occur during the Crusades in the area between present-day
Jerusalem and Damascus.
The battle site is known historically as the "Horns of Hattin" because
of two hills on either side of the valley that appear to form "horns"
from the distance.
The Battle of Hattin essentially heralded the end of the Crusades.
What are the lyrics about on the album?
There are 3 stories and about 3 different regions and
historic events.
For exemple "Montsegur" is about the first crusade ever within Europe
& "Horns Of Hattin" about the battle we mentioned before.
It's written from a storytellers prospective.
Which song from the new album are you looking forward
to play live the most?
We have played all of them live except for the instrumental
but "1187" is our favorite one to play
live."1187" was year for the battle of Hattin.
Any guests on the album?
No guests on the album.
How come you picked the Sonic Train Studios to mix
the album?
We found an add about the studio on My Space and the price
was just slighly more than a studio in Vienna.
We listened to alot of other stuff he had done and we love the sound of it.
And as we are big King Diamond fans we decided-Let's go to Sweden!!! :)
So this is our first time in Sweden and our first time with a real pro producer.
What's your all time favorite album?
Rex -King Diamond:Conspiracy
Acheron -Metallica:Ride The Lightning
What bands have you toured/played gigs with?
Mayhem,Enslaved,Shining
And what bands would you like to tour with?
Melechesh,Keep of Kalessin
Any plans to come and play in Sweden?
We will play everywhere:) But we would love to play
in Sweden.
What is the best moment in this band so far?
Every concert when the crowd have been satisfied and the
Mayhem gig was cool too.
What are the plans for the rest of 2011?
Release the album.More gigs.Get a record deal.A tour with
Hellsaw in the fall might happen too.
Horns Of Hattin comments on:
Sonic Train Studios:
We had seen the pictures and listened to the sounds
so we knew it had to be awsome. And it sure was.
It's good that we can sleep and cook here too.It saves some money as well.
Andy La Rocque:
Cool and down to earth guy. He's a rockstar and our idol. And
now we're here working with him and he sure knows what he's doing.
Varberg:
We've seen some but we will go out to dinner later tonight
and do a little sightseeing too.
